BOOKS AND STORIES

A Story Can Give a Child Something to Hold On To

Sometimes a child needs a good laugh. Sometimes they need an adventure. And sometimes they need a story that helps them express something they haven’t found the words for.

That is what keeps me writing.

My journey as a children’s author began with my son. I wanted to create something meaningful for him, something we could enjoy together. Since then, I have written over 40 books exploring kindness, confidence, friendship, family, cultural identity, imagination, and growing up.

The questions behind my stories are often ones parents and children face every day. How do we help someone feel included? How do we learn to appreciate our differences? How do we find courage when something feels difficult?

The Filipino in Me celebrates cultural roots and the pride of knowing where you come from.

The Light in the White House invites children to think about fairness, belonging, and contributing to their communities.

The Hourglass of Life encourages reflection on time and what matters most, while

No One Like You reminds children to appreciate what makes them unique.

Together, these books reflect the conversations I want to encourage: valuing ourselves, caring for others, and being thoughtful about how we live.

As an author and the founder of World Love Press, I hope my books give families and educators a comfortable place to begin those conversations. A child’s question or a shared memory can make reading together especially meaningful.

There is plenty of room for fun, too. Laughter, wonder, and imagination are part of why children fall in love with books in the first place.
